My curiosity and enthusiasm about learning and the world brings me to travel to new destinations or return to familiar places to experience them further. One constant remains, I can not travel without my camera. It becomes a part of me and while sometimes it can give me access to people and places, it can also block them.

I approach each destination differently. I let the mood of the place guide me in how I start my visual adventure. Sometimes I visit an area with an intent, other times I wander from place to place, each time being open and available to what I see and experience. Thus in one place, I may prefer to photograph this or that, and reveal a different aspect about the world around us.

As my knowledge, beliefs, values, experiences, and attitudes impact what I photograph, they remain mine. As the viewer, your knowledge, beliefs, values, experiences, and attitudes influence how and what you see, what you take away from the image. I can show you an image but you may not sense it as I do.

The image has presented itself to me and I have captured it. My intent is to bring and share a new visual experience of our world. I hope the viewer lets the image speak to him or her and that they find in it their own meaning.
